Summary
The Metaist has been around for almost a month now and, contrary to my welcome notice, posting has been somewhat regular (except this past week; sorry about that).
This past month I was pleasantly surprised to find that about twelve of you read this blog somewhat regularly. I've gotten a bunch of feedback that this blog is "very intense" and doesn't cover subjects such as what I "ate for breakfast this morning". Such reactions are understandable since I typically don't discuss what I had for breakfast on this blog.
Feedback
Yet, I would like to make The Metaist interesting to a (somewhat) wide audience. Technical subjects don't usually lend themselves to wider audiences, but I'd like to try and present interesting explanations of those subjects. To that end, I'd like to know what sorts of things you folks find interesting.
By participating now, you have a chance to help shape the direction of this quirky little blog. While I don't expect it to ever become extremely popular (but I don't rule it out either), the ideas you share here will get exposure to a small, but dedicated, audience-- something that we should leverage. Would anyone like to guest post? About what would you write? What do you get from reading this blog?
Please submit your ideas in the comments below.
Thanks.

One idea is to have people email questions about, say, technology and I could answer them in a post (there will be an example of this on Sunday).
You can email your questions now to metaist.blog@gmail.com.
I would like to see more information on "adult issues". Things that most college students do not know about. Topics such as credit card usage, apartment rentals, bank loans. Also, posts pertaining to psychology would be interesting to see.
'Mental Roadmap' stole the thought right out of my mind, though I wouldn't refer to it as "adult issues." I might have called it "grown-up issues" or, even better, "real-life issues."
I'd also like to see more about game theory, in terms that a caveman could understand. Also, I want to see you debunk marketing ploys. For instance, what we discused recently about the placebo effect and the result that companies are able to advertise that a drug works when in fact it is a total waste of money. Another example is advertising that cars are consumer friendly because they get better MPG, when in fact the pollution is just being exported to Asia, where it takes much more energy and pollutants to manufacture that car. Better MPG than what, for that matter? My '91 Corolla got about the same mileage as any '09 vehicle in its class, until it kicked the bucket.
Also, not sure if this is a Firefox issue or just something messed up on my PC: In the textarea where I type my comments, the arrows don't work. Using the mouse to move around to correct typos, etc., is really annoying!
@Isaac, Mental Roadmap: Interesting ideas; I'll see what I can do.
Isaac, I can confirm the issues with Firefox; it's so messed up that I can't even copy & paste in the textarea. This seems to be a known problem (that I didn't notice because I use Google Chrome for my everyday browsing). I'm curious to find out why this seems to be a hybrid Firefox-Blogger issues.
